Beyond Rio: Another Brazilian Hotspot

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world.

Its white sandy beaches, its famous hotels, open air restaurants, late night bars, and its enormous jungle interior, are just a few reasons why it travels so much to Brazil. But with so many exciting options, it’s best to take a guided tour so you can make the most of your Brazil experience.

Day 1: The city of Rio de Janeiro is a must see. This is a beautiful coastal port where the Portuguese royal family temporarily moved their capital. The beaches are breathtakingly warm all year round, and a statue of Christ the Redeemer looks famous over the bay. Here you will start your tour. After arriving at the airport, spend the afternoon on a sunny beach before settling into your hotel.

Day 2: Sugarloaf Mountain Tour, Rio de Janeiro and Corcovado Mountian

In the morning, you’ll head for Sugarloaf mountain, a peak that rises drastically from the bay. You’ll take the cable car first to Morro da Urca, which stands 886 feet above sea level, before continuing on to the summit. Next you will return to the city, where you will first see the Cathedral, then the Sambodromo, or Samba Stadium, and finally the Maracana football stadium. This impressive Coliseum is well worth the trip. After lunch in town, you’ll take a train to another mountain, this one arguably the most famous in Brazil. Christ the Redeemer, a large statue, perched on top of the Corcovado, or Humpback Mountain. You’ll take another train into town, traveling to a number of popular beaches including Ipanema and Copacabana.

Day 3: Free Day in Rio

After reaching all major tourist destinations on Day 2, you can spend the day in a relaxed manner. Breakfast at the hotel before heading to the beach, or take an optional guided tour.

Day 4: Rio de Janeiro to Buzios

Wake up in the morning and have breakfast in your comfortable hotel, you will move to Buzios. Here you can settle into your new hotel before exploring this beautiful city. Relax on the beach, and take in the sights of the vibrant nightlife while dining at one of the many open-air restaurants.

Day 5: Buzios Catamaran Tour

Buzios, known for its beautiful beaches, is best explored by rising to the sea. You will take a scenic catamaran tour of the many dive sites offshore, where you can dive if you wish.

Day 6: Free Day in Buzios

If one of the beaches along the catamaran tour catches your eye, such as Ossos, Ferradura or Geriba, you can spend the whole day relaxing there. Be sure to shop for the many boutiques on Rua das Pedras, and eat there too. Alternatively, you can take an optional guided tour.

Day 7: Buzios / Rio de Janeiro / Florianopolis

You’ll have breakfast in the morning, then transfer to the airport in Rio de Janeiro for a short flight to Florianopolis.

Day 8: Florianopolis City Tour

After breakfast, you will start with a historical tour of the city, visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Public Market and the local handicraft market. Lagoa da Conceição will be the next stop. The lagoon is used for water sports, and the restaurant is famous for its shrimp. You’ll end your tour at Joaquina Beach, a popular surfing spot.

Day 9: Florianopolis Free Day

Today you have the option of spending the day your way, or taking an optional guided tour. Popular activities include diving, hang gliding, paragliding, mountain biking, or surfing.

Day 10: Florianopolis Departure

You will either transfer to the airport, or continue on to your next destination.
